PHINE. never takes your money. You link your own payment processor, and your clients pay you directly on it.
A payment link is the checkout page your payment processor already gives you. A handle is your name on a person-to-person app.
One field on your profile holds it. That is all PHINE. needs.
Sign in to the web access manager — the provider web app, no app to install. Go to Payments — your processor, your money, pick your processor, paste your payment link or type your handle, then tap Save payment link and confirm it is yours.
Your clients can pay in store until you add a link, and you can add one later at any time.
You can paste: a payment link (a web address starting with https://), or a Venmo / Cash App handle (@yourshop or $yourshop).
Never paste: a card number, a CVV or security code, a bank account number, an API key, secret, or password, or a login for your payment processor. PHINE. only needs a link or a handle. Anything else is rejected — we never ask for it, and we never store it.
Yes. A payment link is a public checkout page — it is made to be shared with the person paying you. It is not a secret, a login, or a key, and there is nothing in it for someone to steal.
It is stored on your account only, signed in to see it. Another barber cannot see your link, and you cannot see theirs. It is never on a public page and never shared between barbers. It is sent only to the client who just booked that exact service, and only after they said yes to prepaying. You can change or remove it at any time — the old link stops being sent right away.
Only when all three of these are true: the client booked with you and chose prepay now (not pay in store); the client agreed to prepay; and your booking system is not already sending one — Squire, Booksy, and Fresha already send a payment link automatically, so PHINE. sends nothing and never double-sends.
If no link is on record, the agent says plainly: "The shop will send you their payment link."
Then they pay in store. That is always an option. The booking is confirmed right away as paying in store — no hold, no deposit window, no link sent. You manage your own accounting for pay-in-store money. PHINE. does not track it, reconcile it, or chase it. The agent asks every client: "Would you like to prepay now, or pay in store?"
Stripe / Square — a formal checkout. The client pays on your link, and you mark the booking paid in the access manager.
Venmo / Cash App — person-to-person. There is no automatic paid status. The booking stays Held / Pending until you mark it paid.
PHINE. records the booking as Confirmed, Held / Pending Deposit, or Paying in store. It never sees the card, the money, or the payout.
A prepay / deposit booking is Held / Pending until it is paid through your link — it is not confirmed yet. If the deposit is not paid inside your shop's window (24 hours by default, or the window you set), the booking is released and the slot goes to the next person on the waitlist for that exact service.
Pay-in-store bookings are never held for this reason — they are confirmed right away.
Yes, any time, in the access manager under Payments. Change it, and the new link is the one sent from then on. Remove it, and PHINE. stops sending a link — clients can still book and pay in store. The old link stops being sent immediately.
No. Your client pays you directly on your processor, and the money goes straight to your account. PHINE. never charges a client, never processes a payment, and never holds money. PHINE. never asks a client — or you — for card details. You pay your processor what you already pay them. PHINE. adds $0 on top of a payment.
Stripe Connect is a later upgrade, not part of the first version. With Stripe Connect Standard, you would own a full Stripe account, Stripe would handle identity checks, payouts, and tax, and PHINE. would store only your account ID — giving automatic paid / unpaid status. For now, the payment link is enough: no Stripe account setup, no extra code, no extra charge.
You do not need one to start. Pay in store is always an option, for every booking. You can add a payment link later, whenever you are ready, in the access manager. If you already take Venmo or Cash App, your handle is all you need — no new account required.
